SOP 05Draft — pending review

Create a static segment

Fixed audiences for test groups, invitations and snapshots.

Purpose and outcome

Why it matters. Some audiences must not change on their own, such as an internal test group or a confirmed invitation list.

Expected outcome. A static segment containing exactly the intended contacts.

When to use it

  • A selected internal test group.
  • A fixed event invitation group.
  • A campaign audience snapshot.
  • An approved imported group.

Prerequisites and access

  • Permission to create segments.

Suggested roles (not yet approved): Marketing Coordinator

Static means static

If you edit filters or contacts later change, a static segment does not refresh. Re-check it before every use.

Imports are a separate process

Contact imports are an administrative task (field mapping, consent and duplicates). In training, imports created segments, but do not assume every import automatically creates one.

Needs confirmation
Who may import contacts and how imported groups are named.

Caivan example

The team builds “Internal | Email test group | Static” with only the named marketing team contacts who should receive real test sends (SOP 15).

Common mistakes and troubleshooting

New people aren’t appearing.
